Not surprisingly, respondents said that those text or push notifications should be relevant to them.

The smartphone, once thought of as a place where consumers went for quick bits of information, is moving deeper into the decision cycle, playing a larger role in more in-depth research. Data from the study point towards mobile shoppers as using their mobile devices throughout the entire purchase cycle as the number of shoppers who conduct research for goods and services has nearly doubled in 2013.
