This past Friday voting opened for the Triangle Business Journal’s Social Madness competition. Smart Online is one of over 100 local companies competing in the social media challenge. Affiliates of the Triangle Business Journal are hosting the same competition in 43 cities nationwide. Throughout the challenge, contestants of like size, square off in a tournament-style competition that measures the growth of their social media presence. The local winners will go on to compete in a national Social Madness faceoff hosted by American City Business Journals Inc., the country’s largest publisher of local business news.
Contestants are scored by an algorithm, which is proprietary in the same way that Klout’s scoring algorithm and Google’s search algorithm is proprietary. Over the contest period, you can help increase Smart Online’s score by following our Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn pages, as well as by voting for us on the Social Madness Website. In September the national champions are announced and rewarded in the form of $10,000 to the charities of their choice. Smart Online is excited to be a part of an event, which celebrates and supports social media excellence.
